NUTTY PARADE

 

The Nutty Parade is a Pecan Festival tradition that allows everyone in town the chance to show off their "Nutty" side.  Usually based around the theme of the festival, partiicpants think up floats, decorate their cars, or even just decorate themselves as wild as they can.
 
All ages are welcome to participate and attend the parade, which will occur on the Friday night of the Pecan Festival.  Please remember to keep it family friendly!
 
Line up starts at 6:00 PM and all entries must be there by 6:10 PM.
 
The entries will be judged and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places will give cash prizes.

PECAN PIE CONTEST & AUCTION

 
The Pecan Pie Contest gives all of our great pie bakers the opportunity to showcase their baking skills.
 
Those wishing to enter pies into the contest must bring their entry and register at the Knights of Columbus Hall between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 1, 2016. 
 
Prizes:
 First Place - $50
Second Place - $40
Third Place - $30
 
At 1:00 PM that afternoon there will be an auction for the top 20 pies at the Grand Stand. 
 
If you want some of the best pecan pies for miles around, be sure and attend the auction and buy the one of your choice.

PECAN CLUSTER CONTEST

 
Pecan clusters are collected, usually the week of the Festival.  (If picked too early they will become dry and drop off).
 Cluster can be brought to Allen's Dime Store up to and until 9:00 AM, Saturday, October 1, 2016.  Results will be announced shortly after that time.
 Prize money for largest number of pecans on one stem.
 
First Place = $25
Second Place = $15
Third Place = $10
 
If more than one winner in each category the prize money is divided equally between them.
 
 All entries are mentioned with the count of pecans entered.  Entries that do not receive prize money, are mentioned as "honorable mention participants" and the count of pecans on their clusters.

PET CONTEST

 
COME ONE, COME ALL & HAVE A BALL.  BRING YOUR PET(S)  FOR A FUN TIME AT THE BRUNSWICK PECAN FESTIVAL SHELTER HOUSE ON BROADWAY OCTOBER 1, 2016
 
The Pet Contest will begin promptly at 9:00 AM.  Early registration is available for those that would like to take advantage of it.  You may pay at the time of early registration, or you may pay the morning of the contest.
 
Cost will be $1.00 per pet for each category that your pet is entered. 
 
Pets will not be judged on dress or tricks.
 
Registration will begin at 8:00 AM and will close at 8:45 AM.  No entries will be accepted after 8:45 AM. Please come early enough so that all entries may be finished by the deadline of 8:45 AM.

BABY CONTEST

Judging for the above age groups need be in a  T-shirt or a onesies, any color and jeans or pants.

NO FRILLY CLOTHES!!

 Hair ribbons and hair pieces will be allowed.
 IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT IN PROPER JUDGING ATTIRE, THEY WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED.
 

MULTI BIRTH CHILDREN MUST BE ENTERED SEPARATELY.

 You may register your baby at the American Legion Hall on  October 1, 2016, at 9:30 AM.  Contest begins at 10:30  AM.

      Parade Lineup Procedures for Floats, Cars, Trucks & Tractors:
        Brunswick High School begins at 12:00 Noon
  • All floats, cars, trucks, and tractors to be judged, must be at the school by 12:45 PM
  • Drivers of cars, trucks and tractors must be present at 12:45 PM
  • All participants that will be on floats must be present at 12:45 PM
  • All judging will begin at 12:45 PM

**** Political entries are welcome. NO Hand Shaking during parade. You must be able to keep up with the pace of the parade.

TEEN DANCE

 Where:  American Legion Hall
When: Saturday, October 1, 2016
Time: 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Price: $3.00 Single - $5.00 Per Couple
 Must be between the age of 13 and 20 to attend.
 Not allowed to leave after entering the dance. If you leave you will not be allowed to reenter.

Tournament Rules

 All teams must report at 9:00am.
Brackets drawn up at that time.
Equal number of men and women on a team.
$150 entry fee per team.
